Based on diaries that detail her father’s thirty years of service as a Canadian immigration officer, The Dependents is a woman’s intimate portrait of a life in transit. In it, she explores her family’s travels through Asia and the Americas, her father’s ties to Canada, her mother’s status as a migrant spouse, and her own experience as an unassuming child born into this shifting orbit.
By intertwining past and present, The Dependents builds on the notion of home while shining light on broader issues like displacement, globalization, and the tangled bonds between East and West, North and South, man and woman.

Basado en diarios que detallan los treinta años de servicio de su padre como oficial de inmigración canadiense, En la Luna es el Día es un retrato íntimo de una mujer que vive una vida en tránsito. Se exploran los viajes de su familia a través de Asia y las Américas, los lazos de su padre con su tierra natal, el estatus de su madre como esposa migrante y su propia experiencia como una niña nacida en esta órbita cambiante.
